The Power of the Tongue!

The power of the tongue - Read carefully the golden nuggets of truth from the verses below:

Psalm 141: 3-4

Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Do not incline my heart to any evil thing, to practice works with men who work iniquity; and do not let me eat of their delicacies.

Proverbs 11: 12-13

He who is devoid of wisdom despises his neighbor; but a man of understanding holds his peace.

A talebearer reveals secrets, but he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.

Proverbs 12: 18-19

There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise promotes health.

The truthful lip shall be established forever, but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Proverbs 15: 4

A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.

Proverbs 18: 21

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

(Go to Laws of God for further in depth study of this verse.)

Ecclesiastes 7: 20-22

For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.

Also do not take to heart everything people say, lest you hear your servant cursing you. For many times, also, your own heart has known that even you have cursed others.

Colossians 4: 6

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

James 4: 11-12

Do not speak evil of one another brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.

There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another?
